With Grant Tipler stepping down as the President of The Biotechnology Initiative, TBI has turned to a familiar face to take on the role. Once again, Lorne Meikle has been asked to contribute his expertise and time to advance the cause of biotechnology in Ontario as the new President of TBI.

The Biotechnology Initiative’s April breakfast held on Thursday April 16th was significant for several reasons: not only was it a chance to get to hear a prominent guest speaker but the occasion also marked the organization’s Annual General Meeting.

Molecular Templates Inc. Secures $2.5 million in Series A Financing from Santé Ventures
AUSTIN, TX-April 10, 2009-Molecular Templates Inc. (MTI), a biopharmaceutical company with a novel protein platform for the development of new cancer therapeutics, today announced it has secured $2.5 million in financing from Santé Ventures. Proceeds from this financing will be used to continue product development and conduct human clinical trials.
