The Biotechnology Initiative Mentorship Program

The Biotechnology Initiative captured the imaGENEation of biotech professionals by launching its mentorship program at the Sept. 17 TBI Breakfast Meeting. The program provides ongoing opportunities for career and skills development for science and business professionals, addressing identified human capital issues in the biotech industry.

“We have so many experts and business leaders at TBI and this is an opportunity for them to give back to the community and contribute to the development of other life science professionals,” said Jill Osborne, Chair, TBI Mentorship Program Committee. “Our program promotes knowledge sharing and mutual growth by facilitating relationships between people at different stages of their careers.”

Online applications to join the program opened Sept. 17 and the first round of applications will close on Oct. 22, 2009. The TBI Mentorship Program Committee will determine matches based on protégé interests, mentor experience, desired involvement and proximity. To date, over 100 life sciences professionals have pre-registered.
