TBI Pub Night
On May 8 members of The Biotechnology Initiative and friends got together to finish off BioFinance in fine style gathering at the Mill Street Brewpub in Toronto for TBI pub night.
Attendees included both TBI members and non-members, people in town for BioFinance, as well as visitors from several key American biotechnology organizations and trade groups enjoying the tours of the brewery.
One bonus of the evening was a brief networking exercise put on by the man behind the Knocking Down Silos series, Dave Howlett who’s entertaining and educational presentations on sales (No Selling Please), networking (Knocking Down Silos) and speaking (Selling the Story) have left thousands of audience members fired up and motivated.
In all, the event attracted more than 100 people for the food, brewery tours and the common goal of mixing business with pleasure. Both organizers Frank Golden of Microbix Biosystems and Liam Brown of Marsh Canada, were equally pleased by the turnout and the positive feedback generated by the event.
“It’s a good location, the venue is a microbrewery so in a way just being here is getting back to our industry roots, and generally a lot of fun, ” said Golden.
