TBI Executive Director Resigns

It is with regret that on October 15th on behalf of the Board of Directors of The Biotechnology Initiative (TBI), I accepted the resignation of , our first Executive Director. Through Bill’s efforts we have seen our organization grow with new members, sponsors and the ability for TBI to be the Voice of Biotechnology in Ontario. Bill has before him another wonderful opportunity as the CEO/GM of the Chicken Farmers of Ontario and we wish him well in his new role. I know Bill thoroughly enjoyed his role with TBI and I suspect you will see him at our events in the future. Bill will continue to volunteer and work with us on membership and sponsorship in the future. On behalf of all of us at TBI, I personally want to thank Bill for his support and dedication to the role which he is leaving on November 2nd.

As President and Chair, and with the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors we will take a few weeks to look at how to best staff our organization as we continue on our strong growth curve. The launch of our new website and communication program will begin in November. The Government Relations Committee is gearing up for Public Policy and Issues Management, as we work with the re-elected Liberal Government in support of our members.

This is an exciting time in the growth and development of TBI as we continue to support the Biotechnology Cluster in Ontario

Grant Tipler,
