Denis Ferkany

Denis Ferkany, Director Corporate Strategy, International Consortium on Anti-Virals, (Peterborough, Ontario)

Denis brings 30 years experience in senior management, business and product development, and strategic alliances in both private industry and public-private partnerships to the ICAV management team. ICAV is a not-for-profit drug development organization dedicated to the discovery and development of anti-viral therapies for neglected and emerging diseases.

Prior to ICAV he was the President of the Greater Peterborough Region DNA Cluster, a not-for-profit corporation and regional partnership for economic development; responsible for overall leadership, government relations, corporate and organizational development of this startup technology transfer and commercialization business.

He moved to Peterborough in 2000
as the Director of Business Development for LAB Interlink Inc. (Omaha, Nebraska), responsible for building and managing relationships with in-vitro diagnostic instrument manufacturers and then became Managing Director of Canadian Operations, leading the Canadian division of this clinical laboratory automation manufacturing company.

Denis is a US citizen who immigrated to Canada from Michigan to become a member of the Senior Management team for CRS Robotics Corporation (Burlington, Ontario), holding various roles in business development and marketing/sales including Manager Robot Automation Sales and Manager of Clinical Automation. He was also President and Co-Founder in 1988 of BDC – the Biomedical Devices Company (Pontiac, Michigan) acknowledged as a pioneering provider of task-dedicated modular laboratory automation.
